The Presidents Heads Walking Tour

  • Hampton Roads Materials 8212 Croaker Road Williamsburg, VA, 23188 United States (map)

Interested in seeing the now iconic and internationally popular decaying Presidents Heads? Take advantage of this opportunity before they are shipped away from Virginia later this year. This will be one of a handful of opportunities in the coming months to legally tour the grounds of these crumbling statues in the absence of any organized photo shoots. With full permission from the landowner, you will have a 3 hour window to visit these relics up close and personal to grab one last glimpse of them before they leave us. Apart from a 5-10 minute history on the Heads which will be delivered at 2PM, the rest of the afternoon is an unguided 3 hour window of time for you to roam the grounds of the Heads.

We will meet at the end of the driveway of Hampton Roads Materials across the street from the Liberty Live Church at 8201 Croaker Rd. in Williamsburg, Va. between at 2PM. I will deliver a 5 minute orientation then we will proceed to the Heads. If you arrive after 2PM, please email me at “john@johnplashalphoto.com” and I will give you instructions on where to meet us.

Bring shoes that can get wet and muddy. Bug spray is also a good idea due to the presence of summertime mosquitoes.

If you are on the list of those that pre-ordered a copy of “A Beautifully Broken Virginia” from my website during the Month of May Promotion , just bring your receipt (either printed or on your phone) and you can get free access.

This is rain or shine event but it will be cancelled if the weather is deemed severe.

Tickets are non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation due to severe weather, you will be notified by e-mail and on this website. Your ticket can be used as a rain check at any of the future 3 Walking Tours in June.

Children 5 and under are free.

Cameras and drones are permitted.

The area in which the Heads reside is not hospitable to those that require wheelchairs, canes, walkers or motor scooters.

Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
